Yes that is an anthropomorphic panda and no SA isn’t known specifically for anthropomorphics or Pandas but the airport is an equal opportunities employer nowadays and the Panda had many good references. There has been another anthropomorphic character in the background of a strip before, they’re not uncommon in the world of M&K
