Also reminds me of those paint-with-water booklets I’d get when I was a kid. The colored dots would be printed in the areas that had to be colored, you’d take a paintbrush dipped in water and brush over the dots, which would smear the ink into the area. Was best to do it with a Q-Tip (cotton swab) or toothpick, so you didn’t go outside the lines and smear the colors together.
that’s what I was going for in the end. Kind of an old fashioned family friendly strip style with M&K themselves brought out of the background for emphasis.
Edit: Ninja’d. Ohh I remember those colouring books! They were called “Magic paint” books here. Awesome.
Hmm…the dots bug me to be honest. I wish they were more subtle but right now there are so many and pronounced I think moo and keo /don’t/ pop from the background because the dots are too overwhelming. I like the look you created, I just think the dots are overdone and should be muted more. Did you do these with the copic pens? nice!
Moo & Keo themselves are the only elements created with copics at the moment (mainly because I can only afford the colours to do them so far (copics are EXPENSIVE). The backgrounds are digitally coloured after. The dots are going to be tweaked so stay tuned
Oh my. Heehee. Mischievous Keo…
Pop art Moo & Keo – I like it.
Keo’s cunning plan made me laugh, too, especially the little bit of hair sticking out the bag.
I like the new art style, but Keo’s hair style makes me think of Alf-Alfa (or however it’s spelled) from The Little Rascals.
Love it! The background dots, the shading, all adds to it!
Awww! Such an adorable Keo plan! But won’t he freeze by travelling in the luggage hold?!
@Drew I’m sure he’ll be fine, he packed some of those little hand warmer things and some apple juice
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
That’s cute.
Kind of reminds me of old-fashioned colored comics in the newspaper or in comic books, with the dots somewhat magnified in the colored areas.

Ah, well and truly packed!
Does Keo pass the weight limit for luggage?

Looks like it’s printed on toilet paper…
